strike the root

if you strike the root you can kill the plant ...

but ... what if the plant should want to live?

but ... the plant cannot live the way it is ... it is killing people.

what then?

can you perhaps cultivate the root?

perhaps, if we spend time digging out the toxic soil around the root ... hmmmmm.

yes! we can replace it with mineral rich, toxin free, earth from the mother.

could that possibly work?

elections are coming up ... local elections and congressional elections.

vote america.

change the soil that america is planted in ... vote your conscience and for your children's children's children.

so ... you think it won't do any good or perhaps you don't know what to do? this is what my parents taught me ...

(1) first, instead of watching 'your shows' on tv ... watch your local PBS station the month before the election. yes, give up a month of your tv watching life to become educated on all the issues, people and nuances of your local, state and congressional elections.

(2) read your voter's guide.

(3) talk to your neighbors (even if you've never met them) about the election about what you learned, remind them to vote too.

(4) standing in the grocery line, talk to those you wait with and the check out person ... remind them that this is a community and we need to work together to change it, and they are a critical part of the information dissemination to our community.

(5) making knowing what is going on at the most minute detail of your community 'cool' and important to both yourself and others.

make this election a priority of your life. change the soil of our nation with your words, time, energy and beliefs.

What if everything we are fed is lies? What if no matter what we vote, the man with the remote clicks the scene to his advantage?

if all we are fed are lies, then i do what a good friend said ... "vote toward the light you see" ...

a different friend once gave me the puzzle long before that advice ... 'there's truth in everything, even a lie' ... so, that's what i do ... vote for what i see as being 'lighter' ...

in the end, its supposed to work out. i have hope and faith (and perhaps just a bit of folly)!
